Use Anima to get online help from your practice: for medical problems, admin requests and more!

There is also the option for patients to complete an Anima request for a cared for person (a child or dependent) from within their own account.

FAQs

What time is Anima open?

The service is currently open from 08:00 to 18:30 Monday to Friday. We will review opening times once we have the new system up and running and can fully assess usage and demand.

How soon will I hear back?

Once an online contact has been submitted, patients will receive an automatic response confirming it has been received by the Practice.

We will look at all online contacts sent through to us and prioritise urgent problems first. This rapid service improves safety and reduces worry for patients with significant problems. You may be asked to supply more information. You will then be contacted to let you know the next steps. If required, you may be sent an appointment or a booking link to book an appointment yourself.

Admin queries will be passed on to our admin/secretarial team who will respond within 5 working days.

You can log on at any time and track the progress of any of your contacts.

Why is Anima closed?

Occasionally we may need to close the service if capacity has been met for the day or we have staff absences. If this is the case, urgent medical problems should be directed to our reception team on 01252 872333. Non-urgent queries we would advise to wait until the Anima service re-opened.

Why have you changed to Anima?

We have listened to patient feedback and hope you will find Anima easier to use. We are really excited about this change and the benefits it will bring to our patients and staff, especially in speeding up getting the help you need.

How can I request a Repeat Prescription?

If you are requesting a prescription, this can be submitted directly via your NHS app or via our website Oakley Health Group

Why can't I just call for an appointment?

In the 'old days' people would book a GP appointment for everything, often having to wait for several weeks, arrange to take time off work or someone to bring them, sit in the surgery and see the doctor just to ask for a certificate, a prescription or test results, asking for blood tests to be arranged or a simple referral - all things that could have been done with a quick online request.  

A whole team of healthcare professionals is available, not just GPs so we aim to get you the care you need from the person best able to help. Many medical queries can be managed safely without needing a face-to-face appointment. Having the information in advance allows us to quickly assess the most appropriate way to help, saving time and often an unnecessary trip to the surgery. You may then receive contact from us via phone, a message with advice, a prescription sent to the pharmacy, or the GP may order tests or arrange a referral. If a face-to-face appointment is necessary, this will be arranged

If you cannot access the internet, then call us on 01252 872333 and a Receptionist will be happy to take your details and enter them into Anima for you.

Of course, the more people who access the surgery online, the quicker and easier it will be for those folk who need to contact us by phone.
